New Research Unveiled at ITOC
Six months into the job and Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive Kevin Bowler was put under the spotlight last week at the Inbound Tour Operators Council (ITOC) annual conference.
Facing questions from ITOC Chief Executive Paul Yeo, Kevin Bowler took the opportunity to unveil new in-depth targeting research identifying those most likely to visit New Zealand, their preferences, 'emotional drivers' and ways of booking travel.
He also talked openly about Tourism New Zealand's market focus, our work in North America, changes to the executive team and our partnership activities. Read more »

Asian Markets Drive July Visitor Arrivals
An additional 7,500 visitors from key Asian markets in July helped offset declines from North America and Europe, taking New Zealand to a new monthly arrivals record. Visitor arrivals in July were up 4 per cent on July 2009 to over 2.5 million arrivals.

200k Milestone for '100% Pure' on Facebook
'100% Pure New Zealand' now has more than 200,000 'likes' (or 'fans') on Facebook, the world's most popular social media website.
Tourism New Zealand is increasing its focus on social media activities and aims to have one million Facebook 'likes' by 2012, enabling us to have conversations everyday with our fans from around the world and convert interest in New Zealand into travel plans.

Tourism New Zealand started twittering "auf Deutsch!!" (in German) this week. The new Twitter account is in addition to our English-language @PureNewZealand account, which already has around 11,000 followers.
Our German Twitter presence - @puresneuseeland - will help us start conversations with German-speaking travellers, media, travel sellers and operators with an interest in the German market.
